Awesome Art

Awesome Art is a PTO sponsored enrichment program created so parents can volunteer in the classroom to educate children about a famous artist and create an art project based on the artist technique and style. These works of art are then displayed throughout the school for teachers and students to admire. 

Volunteers prep the supplies and teach the program within the class room, reading stories, showing slides on the white board & interacting with the students. This is an entirely lead PTO activity, it’s always fun and allows volunteers the opportunity to see the students at their best. Each grade focuses on a Master Artist and the children do their best to replicate the art in the style. The artwork never has to be perfect or exact, it’s about learning a new style (medium), from Dot markers blending colors in kindergarten to designing their own Campbell's soup can in fifth grade. This is one activity the kids always enjoy!
